Kinmen: Taiwan’s Tokyo Olympic men’s doubles gold medalists, Lee Yang/Wang Chi-lin met with elementary and high school students from Kinmen county on Sunday, as part of their initiatives trying to give and contribute back to society.

During a Q&A session, Lee Yang who grew up in Kinmen answered students’ questions patiently. He and Wang also explained to the students how both of them resolve conflicts in their partnership.

“If we are unhappy with each other, we will communicate and discuss the problem together. And over time, our friendship grows stronger,” said Lee.

The pair have been visiting and participating in various promotional activities non-stop after returning to Taiwan, and they are still slowly trying to adjust and maintain their physical fitness. Some students asked Lee/Wang how did they deal with injuries and here’s what they said.

“At the beginning of the injury, I often feel scared and panic. But as long as I follow the rehabilitation process, I am usually able to recover quickly,” added Lee.

“After sustaining an injury, don’t rush back to the court. You must listen to the advice from the medical specialist and must follow the rehabilitation procedure,” explained Wang.

Lee/Wang then played several friendly matches with the students, sharing some advice for aspiring young badminton players.
