Kento Momota, Anders Antonsen Drawn to Meet in 2020 Denmark Open Final

Kuala Lumpur: World No. 1 Kento Momota of Japan, and the World No. 17 Rasmus Gemke of Denmark have been drawn in the same half as Japan’s World No. 11 Kanta Tsuneyama and World No. 16 Kenta Nishimoto in the 2020 Denmark Open draw.

Momota’s potential road to the final could include Dane Rasmus Gemke in the quarters, and possibly Kanta Tsuneyama in the semifinals.

Kento Momota, the defending champion who is aiming for his third Denmark Open title, kicks off his 2020 Denmark Open campaign against Canadian Brian Yang before a potential clash with Indian Parupalli Kashyap in the second round.

The bottom half is headlined by World No. 2 seed Chou Tien Chen and World No. 3 Anders Antonsen.

In women’s competition, Japanese World No.3 Akane Yamaguchi spearheaded the draw in the top half, with a first-round match locked in against Estonia’s Kristin Kuuba.

Yamaguchi is seeded to meet No.3 seed Carolina Marin of Spain in the semifinals.

The No. 2 seed Nozomi Okuhara from Japan could potentially meet No. 4 seed Michelle Li of Canada in other semifinals.
