Although Lee Yong-Dae and Lee Hyo-Jung were no longer as dominant as before, but they still had enough to thwart Ardiansyah Putra/Devi Tika Permatasari’s stubborn challenge to give Muar City a 9-2 lead.

“I am extremely happy to be able to partner with Lee Yong-Dae again. Of course, I am not as good as I was before, my speed has slowed down a lot, but I am satisfied with my performance today,” said Lee Hyo-Jung who retired in 2010, after winning mixed doubles gold with Shin Baek Cheol at the Guangzhou Asian Games, an accomplishment she added to her Olympic gold, an All England title, a Sudirman Cup and an Uber Cup, and other badminton titles.

Tan Boon Heong and Tan Wee Kiong then handed Muar City an unassailable 12-3 lead over Petaling BC before another Korean player Lee Hyun Il sealed the tie for Muar City with 11-8, 11-5, 10-11, 11-7 victory over Malaysian Champion Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin.

The win against Petaling BC gave Muar City a +66 set difference compare to No. 2 team in Purple League, Cheras BC. The win on Saturday has pretty much ensured Muar City for the 2014/2015 Purple League regular season championship title.

In a tie that was held earlier Tuesday, Ampang Jaya BC came out on top over Kajang BC 11-8, while Puchong United BC defeated Bangsar Hawks BC 13-4 in the last tie of the day.
