Lin Dan to play Shi Yuqi in Swiss Open final

Basel: The 33-year-old two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan of China booked his place in the Swiss Open final with a comfortable 21-17, 21-17 win over Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia at the St. Jakobshalle in Münchenstein on Saturday.Lin Dan ready for revenge mission against Shi Yuqi in Swiss Open final. The No. 1 seed Lin Dan is looking forward to the chance for revenge over No. 2 seeds Shi Yuqi on Sunday, after losing to Shi in last week’s All England semi-finals. Lin is no stranger to the Swiss Open tournament as he had won the title in 2004 and 2008, before losing to Lee Chong Wei in the final in 2009.

Shi, who arrived in Switzerland fresh from finishing as runner-up at the All England Open in Birmingham last Sunday, was made to work by No. 6 seed Wang Tzu Wei of Taiwan, needed 59 minutes to see off the Taiwanese player 18-21, 21-17, 21-15.

Besides men’s singles final, the China team also set up all-Chinese final in the men’s doubles and women’s singles events.
    
No. 1 seeds in men’s doubles Chai Biao/Hong Wei will take on unseeded Liu Cheng/Zhang Nan on Sunday, while two players what were born in 1998 namely Chen Yufei and Chen Xiaoxin will play each other in the women’s singles final.

Women’s doubles No. 1 seeds Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan will clash with Bulgarian pair and No. 4 seeds Gabriela Stoeva/Stefani Stoeva in the women’s doubles final, while mixed doubles No. 2 seeds Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto will face-off against No. 3 seeds Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai of Thailand for the mixed doubles crown.
