Beijing: Rio Olympic champion Chen Long led Qingdao to emerge victorious over Guangdong New Century by clinching the 2016/2017 China Badminton Super League (CBSL) title on Feb 2nd, 2017.Chen Long and Qingdao team win the 2016/2017 China Badminton Super League (CBSL) title.

After showing remarkable resilience to break back and snatched the fifth match from Zhejiang in the thrilling semi-final tie, Qingdao’s Zhang Nan/Ko Sung-Hyun continued their stellar forms as they beat Liu Yuchen/Wang Yilv of Guangdong 21-17, 21-12 to get Qingdao off to a good start with 1-0 lead in the CBSL final that was held on Thursday.

Chen Long then came out firing on all cylinders in the men’s singles match against Son Wan Ho. Chen was ruthless over the surprisingly passive Son, destroying Son 21-10, 21-12 to hand Qingdao a vital 2-0 advantage.Chen Long and Qingdao team win the 2016/2017 China Badminton Super League (CBSL) title.

Former World No. 1 women’s doubles pair Luo Ying/Luo Yu played complete dominance of badminton in the third match of the tie, completed the demolition job by beating Yu Xiaohan/Hu Yuxiang 21-10, 21-13 to bring the 2016/2017 China Badminton Super League (CBSL) title to Qingdao.

The Qingdao team also won the 2015-2016 China Badminton Super League (CBSL) championships together with RMB 4 million prize money.
