Beijing: After the Indonesian men’s doubles teams had disappointing results at the 2023 World Championships, the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) made a significant overhaul of the coaches. Herry Iman Pierngadi, also known as Herry IP, was moved from his role as men’s doubles coach to head coach of the mixed doubles. Aryono Miranat was chosen as the new head coach of the men’s doubles department, accompanied by Thomas Indratjaja.

Herry IP is a highly respected coach who has led the Indonesian men’s doubles team to numerous successes, including two Olympic gold medals (2000 – Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya, 2008 – Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan). He is also known for his innovative training methods and his ability to get the best out of his players.

It has been rumored for some time that the China national team is interested in hiring Herry IP. The Chinese men’s doubles team has been struggling in recent years, and they believe that Herry IP could help them to improve.

In a recent Instagram post by Mohammad Ahsan, Herry IP was seen having dinner with Zhang Jun, the president of the Chinese Badminton Association. This has only fueled speculation that Herry IP could be joining the Chinese team.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, it is clear that Herry IP is in high demand. He is one of the most successful coaches in badminton, and his services would be a valuable asset to any team.

It will be interesting to see what happens next. If Herry IP does join the Chinese team, it would be a major coup for them. It would also be a significant loss for Indonesia, as he is a national treasure.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Herry IP. However, one thing is for sure: he is one of the most influential figures in the men’s doubles category.
