This would be Antonsen’s first men’s singles final since making the European Championships in April last year. The world ranking of the former World No. 2 has slipped to World No. 22 after sustaining an injury in the second half of 2022.

In men’s doubles, reigning World champions Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia were defeated by China’s World No. 3 pair Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang. The match ended with scores of 21-16, 15-21, and 17-21 in favor of the Chinese duo.

In the third game, when Chia/Soh were falling behind 8-12, they managed to level the score by scoring four consecutive points. However, Liang/Wang eventually pulled away from the battle against Chia/Soh and secured the victory with a score of 21-17.

Liang/Wang will face former world champions Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi of Japan in the men’s doubles final. Hoki/Kobayashi defeated South Korea’s Choi Sol Gyu/Kim Won Ho 23-21, 21-14.
