Bangkok: Viktor Axelsen’s brilliance was on display again on Saturday when he routed second-seeded Chou Tien Chen of Taiwan in straight sets 21-19, 21-15 in 51 minutes to enter the Toyota Thailand Open finals.

He will set up an all-Dane final when the unseeded Hans-Kristian Vittinghus pulled off an upset to beat compatriot No.3 seed Anders Antonsen 21-19, 21-8.

In men’s doubles, Malaysia’s Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik fought into the final after beating the Indian pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty 21-18, 21-18 in 35 minutes in the semi-finals. Chia/Soh will take on last week’s YONEX Thailand Open champions, Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin of Taiwan in the final.

The Taiwanese duo advanced after a surprised 14-21, 22-20, 21-12 victory over the second seeds from Indonesia, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan.

Carolina MarĂn of Spain also entered her second consecutive final in two weeks and will set up a rematch of last week’s YONEX Thailand Open final against Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan on Sunday.

Marin defeated An Se-young of South Korea 21-19, 21-5 while Tai knocked off home favorite Ratchanok Intanon 12-21, 21-12, 23-21 in the semi-finals.

“I’m satisfied with my performance today compared to other games I played this week,” said Marin.

Last week’s YONEX Thailand Open mixed doubles champions Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai of Thailand also made their second finals in two weeks and will play Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yujung of Korea for the title.

In the women’s doubles final, No. 3 seeds Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan will set up an all-Korean final with compatriots and No. 4 seeds Kim So Yeong/Kong Hee Yong.
