Chengdu: Sponsored by China Olympic Complex Group Company, the 2017 Badminton Asia Elite tour was held in Chengdu from 10th to 12th of November 2017, and both Lee Chong Wei/Cai Yun emerged as the men’s doubles champions, walking away with USD $24,000.

The Chengdu leg of the 2017 Badminton Asia Elite tour included not only men’s singles superstar Lee Chong Wei, but also some of the world’s top men’s doubles player such as former Olympic champions Hendra Setiawan from Indonesia and Cai Yun from China.

Former World No. 1 mixed doubles player Xu Chen and Japan’s former No. 1 men’s singles shuttler Kenichi Tago finished runners-up in the men’s doubles category while Hendra Setiawan and Wang Zhengming ended up in the third spot.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s Yip Pui Yin captured the women’s singles crown while also picked up the mixed doubles title with Hendra Setiawan by seeing off Jiang Yanjiao/Xu Chen.

The 2017 Asian Badminton Elite Tour 2017 was organized by Asian Badminton Federation that was aimed to bring excitement, to inspire younger generation of badminton enthusiasts, and to promote the sport of badminton around the world.
