Kuala Lumpur: Despite slipping one spot to World No. 2 last week, Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia has moved past Son Wan Ho of Korea to regain the world number one in the latest BWF World rankings that was released on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Korean shuttler Son Wan Ho fell to second place with 70,308 points, while Viktor Axelsen of Denmark finished at the third place.

China’s badminton superstar Lin Dan rose two spots to No. 7, and his teammate Chen Long moving up four places to be ranked 8th in the rankings.

Other Malaysian players that broke into World’s top 100 including Zulfadli Zulkiffli (No. 32), Iskandar Zulkarnain (No. 39), Chong Wei Feng (No. 42), Daren Liew (No. 54), Soong Joo Ven (No. 94), and Goh Giap Chin (No. 98).

Taiwanese women’s singles player Tai Tzu Ying, with 15,645 points, held on to the top spot in the women’s singles ranking.

In men’s doubles, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia topped the category with 82,477 points to hold an advantage of 4,763 points over second place’s Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen of Denmark, followed by Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen of China and Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong of Malaysia in the third and fourth positions respectively.
